Craftsman M230 163-cc 21-in Self-Propelled Gas Push Backyard Mower with Briggs & Stratton is rated 3.iv out of five past 106.

Rated 2 out of 5 past from Poor design Every bit reported by many the rod (pin) on which the back flap pivots and is held in place worked itself out later simply iv mowings. I put it back in place and pushed the rod back into place but on the very next mowing it came out again. There should hav been some locking method (cotter pin, button on end cap, etc.) to proceed the rod in identify. Too much plastic used on critical wear components. The hight adjustment "pins" are plastic and are no match for the metal aligning arms. The pins are existence chewed up quickly. Terminal fourth dimension I buy whatever mower from Loews. Side by side fourth dimension it will exist a "real" mower similar John Deere. The added cost is more than justified buy the dependability and durability.

Rated 1 out of v by from Horrible design Beginning off I assembled and put oil in and gas and started and it immediately started blowing oil out of the muffler . Tried using the control for the self propelled rear wheels ,what a awkward and difficult set up up .You have to pull back on the lever and so you can start it then the levr to make it become you lot push button forward .With arthritis and trigger fingers this prepare upwardly is really really horrible and needs to go dorsum to the M310 design .I returned this mower immediately and constitute the M310 at a different store and what a difference,so if your considering this mower and have arthritis Etc practise non buy ,try and notice the M310 same exact mower with different control fix up.

Rated ane out of v by from Assembly event with T-bolts As the previous reviewer mentioned, we were unable to get the handle'due south lesser T-bolts to totally tighten down. On the first mower we got, the right one tightened downward, but not the left (fifty-fifty with a wrench!) and then the handle was not secure. Took it back and got another 1 and when nosotros got that one habitation, one of the T-bolts was missing; however, we tried to tighten downwardly the one that was there to meet if it was an outcome with this model in general, and sure plenty, couldn't get it to tighten all the way down. How hard is it to brand the holes big enough to adapt a bolt? Maybe tertiary time is a charm, but we didn't want to chance it, so returned it for a refund and went elsewhere for an entirely different model.

Rated iii out of 5 by from Awkard maneuvering Wish I'd read the review earlier purchasing. Was looking so frontward to the ease of mowing with a cocky-propelled. But the push bar is so awkward to apply, especially on slopes. The speed is controlled by the grayness push bar (push forrad to propel), but it pushes away from the mower frame handle. I have to grasp and push the bar with ane hand, and grasp the mower frame bar with the other on slopes, which makes mower performance less efficient, awkward, and labor intense (defeating the purpose of self-propel feature). I plan to render the mower for a more than maneuverable choice.

Rated four out of five by from Dump the Drive Handle The M320 mower has enough of power and I prefer the Briggs & Stratton engine over Honda. The rear bicycle drive gives yous more than traction and is superior to front wheel drives. The bag does seem to hold more than than most models before the need to empty. And the handle sets upward higher than any mower that I've endemic, which is a big plus for me (6'iii"). The only issue I have with this model is the Drive Command or "Pace Control System". The way the drive command handle is configured forces y'all to use the drive command handle as the 'Mower' command handle, which on straight level terrain works fine, but on curved or mounded sections and areas where you have to maneuver around trees and other obstacles, the speed of the mower becomes difficult to control. I prefer the drive control "lever" system over this "handle control" system.

Rated 2 out of 5 past from 2 mowers and iii trips to Lowe's. The front end wheels fell off and got sucked into the blade during my first utilize of information technology. I had to return the mower the next day and to make things worse they were out of stock then I collection an 60 minutes to another Lowe'south to pick up some other mower to finish mowing my lawn. The 2d one worked well enough but I don't await it to last as long as I'm hoping it will.

Rated v out of 5 past from A very nice rwd self-propelled mower for the money Quite heavy out of the box and durable it seems, only issue is when I tried paw-tightening the bottom 2 bolts of each side (four total...2 towards the top and ii at the bottom of the handle)...I just tin't seem to get the bottom two to tightened all the manner downwards and did not desire to use a tool since it might break the plastic winged handle part of the bolt. AT starting time I thought I might accept cross threaded so tried once again and once again and was unsuccessful. So I mowed with the handle kind of loose. 2 acme bolts no problem tightening downwardly...just the lesser ones. Whatsoever help or aid with this would exist much appreciated. Other than that... it mowed extremely well and couldn't exist more than happier. Loved the rear wheel drive, much improve than front ones I had in the past. Thank you in advance!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Front axel is not secured well, can fall off Similar a couple other recent reviews I read, the front axel fell off of the lawn mower into the bract and ane of the wheels was destroyed. Luckily zilch happened to the metal axel or the blade. It almost like craftsman forgot to install ii pieces and 4 screws to concord the front axel in place. I just need a replacement 2 wheels and perchance the metal part golding the wheels to make this right. The warranty phone number has and so far not been helpful and it's frustrating. I'1000 not too thrilled about the plastic function the handbag is attached to. The positives are the stiff rear bicycle bulldoze and the motor.
